In the beginning of 2020 my grandfather gifted me two of his 8mm cameras from the 1950s, both of which hadn’t been used in over 40 years. Although they’re beautiful vintage pieces that made great décor, I couldn’t just let them collect dust on the shelf any longer. So I ordered some film and decided to give it a go. The results blew me away and ever since my first developed roll returned in the mail, I’d order a new one. Once that one came back, another one was ordered, and so on and so forth. It’s been a vicious cycle of receiving and sending film with lots of sprints to the mailbox since that day.
While I couldn’t practice hair and makeup during that time due to the pandemic, film is what kept my desire to stay creative satisfied. My love for the cosmetology trade is too strong to ever give up but I’ve discovered it’s not the only thing I’m passionate about. So what was once formerly known as Hair by Morghan has transitioned to Fringe and Film.
